How to properly wash satin bedding    Satin sets are durable, but delicate, in order to maintain their quality as long as possible, it is necessary to properly wash satin bedding. We will answer the most frequently asked questions from our customers:

How to wash satin bedding for the first time?

After the purchase, the kit must be washed, although it stops its flawless appearance, because it is flawlessly ironed and looks beautiful. But! Think how many hands touched it before sending it to the buyer. Starting from cutting, then sewing, going through quality control department, then ironing and packing, at least 10 different people. Further, the product must be cleaned of dye residues and fixed to the fabric, as well as remove all unnecessary lint and other mechanical contamination that are not visible during normal examination. The water should be warmed up no higher than 30 degrees and the wash should be done at the Delicate mark.

How often do satin bedding sets need to be washed?

To maintain a healthy atmosphere during sleep, it is recommended to wash at least once every 7-10 days. This periodicity allows you to keep the kits clean and prevent heavy contamination, which will be strongly removed in the future. Also, the washing procedure with such a frequency allows you to minimize the growth of pathogens and reduces the risk of allergic reactions.

At what temperature should satin bedding be washed?

At the first wash, the required temperature regime is described above, but the subsequent procedures are recommended to be carried out in water with a temperature of 40-45 degrees. This is due to the fact that cotton fibers increase in size when wet, three times and lose elasticity, and high temperature contributes to the destruction of the upper soft layer of fibers and leads to premature wear of the sets, as well as loss of color brightness. Dark and saturated products at water temperatures above 50 degrees will begin to fade and lose their attractiveness, and all because modern dyes are environmentally friendly, therefore they need protection.

In what mode of the machine is the machine to wash satin bedding?

Depending on the composition of the raw materials from which the satin is made, from which the kit is sewn, the mode that must be selected also depends. The most common composition is cotton, in high quality products it is 100% cotton composition. In products with the numerous names polysatin, the admixture of polyester can reach up to 50%; synthetic fibers are also often added to jacquard to enhance shine. Models containing synthetic additives are washed in synthetic or polyester mode. There are also bamboo fiber and tencel products. Accordingly, a cotton bed is washed on the cotton mode, or eco-cotton, if such is indicated on the product tag. And sets of bamboo and eucalyptus raw materials must be washed in a delicate mode, since their structure is more delicate and can cough up. Also, viscose fabrics, such as bamboo and tencel, are subject to stronger deformation in comparison with cotton materials, so they need a more gentle care.

How to wash satin plain and colored bedding in an automatic washing machine? How to wash satin bedding

Separate colored and plain satin sets, as well as dark from light ones, they should be washed separately. Then turn the duvet cover and pillowcases inside out and close the zippers and buttons, if any. The drum should not be filled more than half, this eliminates excessive friction of fabrics against each other and, accordingly, increases the service life of the products. Pre-soaking is recommended, from 30 minutes to 2 hours, this procedure will facilitate further washing, which can be carried out in a delicate mode. If stains have formed on satin bed linen, they must be washed with an oxygen-containing chlorine-free stain remover, and then washed as usual. Laundry detergents are desirable in liquid form, free from phosphates and other harmful chemicals. For colored products, it is recommended to use means to preserve the brightness of color, and for whites, universal ones are suitable or for light and white sets. Natural laundry detergents will help keep the stain kits eco-friendly and will also eliminate allergic reactions.

How to properly care for satin bedding?

Sets made of high-quality satin, undergo a mercerization procedure, which allows you to do without ironing, as it makes satin elastic and less prone to wrinkling and creases. But if you still need a trimmer, the temperature should be set based on the composition of the bedding sets. If the product contains synthetic fibers, such sets should be ironed at the Synthetics or Polyester indicator, this will exclude deformation of the fibers and an unpleasant odor. Natural models made of cotton, paper and tencel are ironed in the Cotton mode.
