The standard sizes of a single set of linen are designed for a full sleep of one person. After the sizes of clothes were standardized in Europe, and subsequently the sizes of bed linen and other household items, the production process was simplified and the range expanded significantly. The unification made it possible to produce single bedding sets in standard sizes, thereby facilitating the selection of blankets, pillows, and beds. One-and-a-half bed linen and a single bed are identical in size, most often the difference lies only in the presence of a second pillowcase in a one-and-a-half set, which does not significantly increase the cost of the set.

Turkish manufacturers produce single comfort sets in sizes 160x220cm, both duvet covers and sheets. Ukrainian manufacturers are more in demand with sizes 145x210cm, as well as German brands. There is also a single plus size for superior comfort, with the same dimensions as those of Turkish factories.
Selection of bed linen for a single bed
The size of the sheet for a single bed is selected taking into account the overall dimensions of the bed, on average, so that the sheet does not ride up and slide off the bed during sleep, it is enough to leave an overlap around the edges of 25-30 cm. Then, when changing position, the sheet will not change its location much. To choose a single sheet with an elastic band, it is necessary to take into account the height of the mattress so that the sheet with elastic bands goes beyond the bottom and completely covers the mattress with a margin of 2 to 5 cm. If there is more stock, the sheet will not be able to hold firmly to the edges of the mattress.
A single duvet cover is selected taking into account the margin for the size of the blanket by more than 5-10 cm, the thickness of the blanket is also taken into account, the larger it is, the more margin is taken.
Pillowcases are selected strictly based on their pillow size, that is, for a pillow measuring 50x70, a pillowcase of the same size 50x70cm is selected, this will allow the pillowcase to take a beautiful shape and create comfortable conditions for sleeping.
Another important factor is the shrinkage after washing of natural cotton fabrics, which varies from 3 to 5%.
Also, do not forget that the washing temperature directly affects the overall dimensions, as well as the ability of the sets to maintain their geometric shape, so you should not wash a single bed in water at high temperatures.
